Brisbane Roar sign Joel King and Sabit Ngor on two-year deals
Brisbane Roar has bolstered their lineup by signing Joel King and Sabit Ngor to two-year deals, aiming for a stronger performance in the next season.

Brisbane Roar has made a significant move in the transfer market by signing former Sydney FC left-back Joel King and Central Coast Mariners forward Sabit Ngor, both on two-year contracts. This double acquisition comes as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
Joel King's Arrival
Joel King, 25, joins Brisbane Roar after an impressive eight-season tenure with Sydney FC, where he accumulated over 125 A-League appearances. During his time with the Sky Blues, King celebrated two Championships and a Premiership. His international career also saw him make his Socceroos debut in a FIFA World Cup qualifier against Vietnam in 2022, and he was later included in Australia’s squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the move, King stated, “I’m really excited to be joining Brisbane Roar. It’s a massive opportunity for me and one that I’m really grateful for.” He acknowledged the club's rich history and passionate fanbase, emphasizing the significance of representing Brisbane Roar. Sporting Director James Gow praised King’s experience and leadership, noting, “Joel brings a wealth of A-League experience, has represented Australia at senior international level and still has his best years ahead of him.”
Sabit Ngor's Contribution
Joining King is Sabit Ngor, also 25, who concluded the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League season as the top scorer for the Mariners, netting six goals in 25 appearances. Ngor previously had a successful stint in Finland with Tampereen Ilves, where he recorded five goals and four assists in 29 matches.
Ngor expressed his excitement about joining Brisbane Roar, stating, “It’s a fantastic club with a proud history, and from the conversations I’ve had, it was clear that the ambitions of the club align with my own.” He looks forward to engaging with fans and contributing to the team's success. Gow highlighted Ngor's versatility and attacking prowess, saying, “He’s an attacking player who we see playing mostly wide, however Sabit’s versatility is important, giving us options across the front line.”
As the new season approaches, King will don the number 16 shirt, while Ngor will wear the number 19 jersey, marking the beginning of their journey with Brisbane Roar.
