RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has reached an agreement on personal terms with Real Madrid following the withdrawal of Paris St-Germain from the race for his signature. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international had previously attracted interest from Liverpool, who had a £69 million bid turned down in June, and PSG, who have now decided against pursuing the player further.

Transfer Developments

PSG reportedly made a final offer of £102.5 million for Diomande on Sunday, which was also rejected by Leipzig. With Liverpool shifting their focus to other targets, Real Madrid has moved in to secure the talented winger. The terms agreed upon for Diomande's contract are said to be similar to that of England midfielder Jude Bellingham, featuring performance-based incentives that increase annually.

Leipzig's Stance

Real Madrid is expected to pay over £100 million for Diomande, who joined RB Leipzig from Leganes last summer on a five-year deal. Sources indicate that Real's key negotiators, Jose Angel and Juni Calafat, have been monitoring Diomande for approximately five years, although they did not react to his performances during the recent World Cup.

Despite Leipzig's efforts to retain the forward, they view the interest from top European clubs as extraordinary, making it challenging to turn down such lucrative offers. Diomande was recognized as the Bundesliga's young player of the season for 2025-26, having netted 12 goals and provided eight assists last term.
