Western Sydney Wanderers sign forward Miguel Di Pizio

Western Sydney Wanderers have secured the signing of forward Miguel Di Pizio, enhancing their squad as they prepare for the new season.

Western Sydney Wanderers have officially signed young forward Miguel Di Pizio on a two-year contract, marking an exciting addition to their squad.

A Promising Talent Returns

Di Pizio, who previously enjoyed a successful spell with the Central Coast Mariners, left polytec Stadium after the conclusion of the 2025-26 Isuzu UTE A-League season. During his time in Gosford, he was part of a treble-winning team and made history by becoming the youngest goalscorer in a Grand Final, netting the Mariners’ second goal in their 3-1 victory over Melbourne Victory in the 2023-24 season.

Having also played a vital role in the Mariners’ AFC Cup and Premiership victories that season, Di Pizio departed as a fan favourite. Now, he returns to the Wanderers, where he began his football journey in the academy.

Excitement and Ambition

Expressing his enthusiasm about the move, Di Pizio stated, “I feel really blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to come back and play for my hometown club.” He emphasized the positive experiences he had in the academy, highlighting the great coaches and friendships he formed. Di Pizio aims to bring creativity to the team's attacking play, promising fans “plenty of link-up play and hopefully some goals and assists as well.”

With 51 appearances in his A-Leagues career and a representation for Australia at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in 2023, Di Pizio is eager to make an impact at his new club. “I’m honoured to wear this jersey and grateful for the opportunity. I can’t wait to get started,” he added.

Club's Confidence in Di Pizio

Western Sydney Wanderers Football Director, Mal Impiombato, expressed confidence in Di Pizio's potential, stating, “Miguel is a player we know extremely well. He came through our Academy system and has gone on to prove himself at the highest level of Australian football.” Impiombato noted that Di Pizio’s achievements, including major trophies and international experience, made him a key target for the club. At just 20 years old, the club believes he has significant potential for further development in a supportive environment.

As Di Pizio embarks on this new chapter with the Wanderers, fans will be eager to see how he contributes to the team's success in the upcoming season.
