Western Sydney Wanderers FC has announced that promising young player Aydan Hammond has re-signed with the club, furthering his journey in the Red & Black. This decision underscores Hammond's strong ties to the Western Sydney region and his desire to grow at the A-League level while representing the community that has shaped him.

Return to the Wanderers

After spending eight years in Portugal, Hammond returned to Australia and joined the Wanderers ahead of the 2023/24 season. He quickly became involved in both the Club’s Academy and First Team programs. His hard work and performances led to his A-Leagues debut in 2024, where he made three appearances in his inaugural season, culminating in his first senior goal during the club's final match.

Establishing a Presence

Since his debut season, Hammond has further solidified his position in the A-League, featuring in 47 matches and scoring six goals. Known for his dynamic attacking style, strong one-on-one skills, and fearless approach in the final third, he is regarded as one of the club’s most promising local talents.

Football Director Mal Impiombato expressed his satisfaction with Hammond's commitment to the Wanderers, stating, “Aydan is exactly the type of player we want representing this club. He’s a Western Sydney local who understands what this badge means, and he brings a real hunger every time he steps on the pitch.” Hammond himself shared his excitement about extending his time with the Wanderers, emphasizing the importance of the club to him and his family. He is eager to continue improving and contributing to the team's success.
