VfB Stuttgart sign Dženan Pejčinović from Wolfsburg | Bundesliga

VfB Stuttgart has completed the signing of Dženan Pejčinović from Wolfsburg. The move aims to bolster Stuttgart's lineup for the upcoming Bundesliga campaign.

VfB Stuttgart has officially announced the signing of Dženan Pejčinović from Wolfsburg, securing the young striker on a contract that extends until 2031. This acquisition marks Stuttgart's sixth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Marius Funk, Leo Sauer, David Preu, Grischa Prömel, and Tim van der Leij.

Pejčinović's Recent Performance

During the 2025/26 season, Pejčinović made a significant impact at Wolfsburg, scoring 12 goals in 34 appearances. Despite his contributions, he could not help the team avoid relegation to Bundesliga 2. The 21-year-old forward expressed his enthusiasm about joining Stuttgart, stating, "I can hardly wait to get started at VfB, I’m really looking forward to it." He also highlighted his familiarity with some teammates from the DFB youth teams and noted positive discussions with the club's management, which influenced his decision to join.

Stuttgart's Ambitions

Fabian Wohlgemuth, Stuttgart’s board member for sport, praised Pejčinović's potential, saying, "Dzenan has everything it takes to be a valuable option in attack immediately, and as a young player, he still has a lot of potential for development." Wohlgemuth also emphasized that Pejčinović's choice to join Stuttgart, despite being a sought-after player, reflects the club's upward trajectory in recent years.

Born in Munich to Montenegrin parents, Pejčinović began his career with Bayern Munich before moving to Augsburg in 2017. He joined Wolfsburg in 2022 after spending five years in Augsburg's academy. Pejčinović made his debut for Wolfsburg during the 2022/23 season and spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Fortuna Düsseldorf, returning to Wolfsburg for the following campaign. He has also represented Germany at the Under-21 level, scoring 39 goals in 39 youth international appearances.

With his signing, VfB Stuttgart aims to bolster their attacking options as they look forward to a successful season ahead.
