This collective action follows Infantino's unsuccessful attempt to sell stakes in the World Cup, which the governing bodies have labeled a "fundamental breach of trust."

In their letter, the three confederations expressed that Infantino's actions have undermined the trust placed in him by the institutions he represents. They stated, "when trust is broken through deception, when an individual places himself above the collective that entrusted him with authority, that duty has been abandoned." This sentiment reflects a growing discontent with Infantino's leadership style, which they argue prioritizes personal interests over the integrity of the sport.

Potential Boycott Threats

UEFA has previously indicated that it might boycott the World Cup and other FIFA competitions while Infantino remains in charge. The letter was co-signed by prominent figures including UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, AFC President Salman Bin Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, and CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani, emphasizing a unified stance against Infantino's leadership.
