U.S. midfielder Giovanni Reyna has made a move to French club Strasbourg from Borussia Mönchengladbach, marking a new chapter in his career following a challenging season in Germany.

Strasbourg announced on Tuesday that they have secured the services of the 23-year-old Reyna on a five-year contract. The transfer fee for the midfielder is reported to be 3 million euros, approximately $3.5 million.

Recent Performance

Reyna represented the United States in all five matches during the recent World Cup, where he notably scored in the team's opening 4-1 victory over Paraguay. However, his time at Mönchengladbach was less fruitful, as he managed only one goal in 20 appearances.

Strasbourg, which finished eighth in Ligue 1 last season and did not qualify for European competitions, will be under the guidance of new coach Hugo Oliveira, who previously served as an assistant to Marco Silva at Fulham before moving to Benfica.
