Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has officially joined Hamburger SV in the German Bundesliga, marking a significant step in his career. The 27-year-old Nigerian forward completed his transfer from OGC Nice after successfully undergoing medical examinations at the Athleticum at Volkspark last weekend.

Moffi's Role at Hamburger SV

At his new club, Moffi will don the No. 9 jersey as he embarks on this latest chapter in his football journey, which has seen him play in multiple European leagues. HSV's sporting director, Kathleen Krüger, expressed confidence in Moffi's ability to enhance the team's attacking options. She stated, “Terem fits perfectly with our orientation. With his commitment, we are setting ourselves even wider and more variable in the Sturmzentrum and thus increasing our quality.”

Krüger also emphasized Moffi's extensive experience at a high international level, which she believes will benefit the club's younger talents. Sports director Claus Costa echoed these sentiments, highlighting Moffi's physical attributes and versatility. “We are very pleased that we have succeeded in signing Terem. Terem is a striker who is difficult to control due to his physique, determination and style of play,” Costa remarked.

A Diverse Football Journey

With this move, Moffi is set to play in his seventh country professionally. Born in Calabar, Nigeria, in May 1999, he began his football career in England at the Buckswood Football Academy before moving to Lithuania, where he played for FK Kauno Zalgiris and FK Riteriai. In January 2020, he transitioned to Belgium with KV Kortrijk, followed by a move to France with FC Lorient later that year.

Moffi's impressive performances at Lorient led to his transfer to OGC Nice in early 2023, and he spent the latter part of last season on loan at FC Porto in Portugal. Throughout his career, he has accumulated 88 goals and 13 assists in 228 competitive appearances.
