Telemundo has secured the Spanish-language broadcast rights for all UEFA men’s club competitions in the United States, starting from the 2027-28 season. This announcement was made on Sunday, marking a significant expansion of Telemundo's soccer coverage beyond the World Cup.

Comprehensive Coverage Across Platforms

The new rights deal will provide live coverage of every match in the UEFA Champions League, regarded as the most prestigious club competition globally. Telemundo's broadcasts will be accessible across NBCUniversal's various platforms, including Peacock, Universo, and Telemundo Deportes Ahora, which is a free ad-supported television channel.

Building on World Cup Success

This agreement comes on the heels of record viewership for Telemundo during the World Cup, where the network averaged a total audience of 6 million through the semifinals. Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, emphasized the importance of maintaining this momentum. He noted that the World Cup did not create an American soccer audience but rather revealed an existing interest. The Champions League, featuring many stars who gained popularity during the World Cup, is seen as a key opportunity to further engage this audience.
