Sydney FC has been dealt a significant blow with the news that striker Victor Campuzano has suffered a season-ending ACL injury. The Spaniard has returned to his home country for surgery following the injury, which occurred during training when he landed awkwardly after jumping for the ball.

The club confirmed that Campuzano's injury involves a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, ruling him out "for a number of months." The 29-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, is now focused on his rehabilitation after undergoing surgery in Spain. "It's one of those things that can happen to any footballer and, unfortunately, this time it's my turn," Campuzano stated. He expressed disappointment over the injury but emphasized his commitment to recovering and returning stronger.

Campuzano's absence leaves Sydney FC without an experienced senior striker, particularly after the departures of loanee Apostolos Stamatelopoulos and Patrick Wood during the off-season.
