Sydney FC has strengthened its squad by signing Takahiro Sekine from Urawa Red Diamonds, a player with a distinguished career marked by significant achievements.

Impressive Career Achievements

The 31-year-old Sekine has signed a three-year contract with the club, bringing a wealth of experience and success to the A-League. He is a two-time AFC Champions League winner, having lifted the trophy with Urawa in 2017 and 2022. In addition to his Champions League titles, Sekine has also won the Emperor’s Cup in 2021, the Japanese Super Cup in 2022, and the J.League Cup in 2016, solidifying his status as one of Urawa's all-time greats.
