St. Louis CITY SC has strengthened its attacking options by signing Danish midfielder Carlo Holse as a Designated Player. The 27-year-old joins the club on a permanent transfer from Samsunspor, a team in Turkey’s Süper Lig, and has committed to a contract that runs through the 2028-29 season, with an option for an additional year.

In acquiring Holse, St. Louis CITY SC obtained the Discovery Priority from the Philadelphia Union, which involved a financial exchange of $150,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) for 2026, $50,000 for 2027, and a conditional $100,000 in GAM. Holse will take up an International Roster Slot and will be added to the roster once he clears medical examinations and secures his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

Player Profile and Expectations

Before his time in Turkey, Holse developed through the youth ranks at FC Copenhagen, making his professional debut in 2017. He also had a loan spell at Esbjerg fB, followed by a successful stint at Rosenborg BK, where he became a key player, contributing significantly to the team's attacking play.
