The 24-year-old Brazilian has signed a five-year contract that will keep him with Sporting Kansas City through the 2030-31 MLS season. Luiz will take up a Designated Player spot and an international roster slot for the team. André Luiz has made a notable impact since his professional debut in 2021 with Flamengo, his childhood club in Brazil. Over his career, he has recorded 28 goals and 13 assists in 140 appearances. Following his time at Flamengo, he played for Portuguese clubs Estrela de Amadora and Rio Ave before joining Olympiacos in January. Luiz also participated in the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League with Olympiacos, showcasing his talent on a larger stage.
