Veteran Socceroos striker Awer Mabil has made a significant return to the A-League Men by signing a three-year contract with Melbourne City. This move marks a notable recruitment success for the club, as Mabil has spent over a decade playing overseas since leaving Adelaide United in 2015.

International Experience and Recent Form

The 30-year-old forward most recently played for Spanish club Castellon, where his performances led to his inclusion in the Socceroos squad ahead of the World Cup. Mabil has extensive experience, having played primarily at Danish club Midtjylland, and has participated in the last two World Cups, accumulating 39 caps and scoring 10 goals for his national team.

At Melbourne City, Mabil reunites with fellow Socceroos Aziz Behich and Mathew Leckie, as the team aims to improve following last season's elimination in the finals.
