Ronald Araujo is set to leave Barcelona to join Liverpool on loan, as both clubs have reached an agreement. The negotiations have intensified in recent days, culminating in a deal that was first reported by Fabrizio Romano and confirmed by MARCA. Under the terms of the agreement, Liverpool will cover Araujo’s entire salary and will have a non-mandatory purchase option.

Barcelona's Upcoming Tournament

Barcelona is scheduled to travel to Udine for a triangular tournament featuring Nottingham Forest and Udinese. Araujo is not expected to be included in the squad for this trip, as he will take the opportunity to bid farewell to his teammates.

Araujo's Contract Situation

The Uruguayan defender is under contract with Barcelona until June 2031, following a contract extension signed in 2025. However, Araujo has fallen out of favor in Hansi Flick’s starting lineup, having played only 1,617 minutes across all competitions last season. He currently ranks behind Pau Cubarsí, Gerard Martín, and Eric García in the defensive hierarchy.
