Porto has officially announced the permanent signing of Jakub Kiwior from Arsenal following a successful loan spell that contributed to their Primeira Liga title victory this season.

Details of the Transfer

Kiwior initially joined Porto on loan last summer, but the club has now secured his services on a permanent basis for a reported fee of €17 million (£14.6 million). The Poland international has made a significant impact during his time at the club, featuring in 25 matches throughout Porto's league-winning campaign.

Impressive Performance

Under the management of Francesco Farioli, Kiwior has excelled defensively, ranking second on the team for aerial duels (46), tackles (33), and interceptions (35) in the league this season. His contributions were also pivotal in helping Porto advance to the quarter-finals of the Europa League, where they faced elimination at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Kiwior joined Arsenal midway through the 2022-23 season from Spezia, during a period when the Gunners were competing for the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta. In his new contract with Porto, he reportedly has a release clause set at €70 million and has committed to a four-year deal with the club.
