Hartlepool United has landed the highly coveted striker Harris, enhancing their squad ahead of the new season. This signing is expected to significantly bolster their offensive capabilities.

Hartlepool United has officially announced the signing of striker Will Harris from FC Halifax Town. The 25-year-old forward has committed to a two-year deal at Victoria Park, which runs until June 2028, with an option for the club to extend the contract for an additional year through June 2029, pending the necessary approvals.

Impressive Track Record

Harris joins Hartlepool following a standout season with Halifax, where he netted 22 goals in 43 appearances in the National League, helping his former team secure a place in the play-offs. His impressive performances garnered attention from various clubs within the National League and Football League before he chose to make the move to Hartlepool.

Born in South Shields, Harris developed through the youth systems at Hebburn Town and Burnley, eventually signing his first professional contract with the Premier League side. He gained valuable experience through loan spells at Nelson, Colne, and Warrington Town, before joining Sunderland in September 2020. At Sunderland, he made his professional debut in the EFL Trophy and appeared three times in League One. A subsequent loan at Barrow further enriched his Football League experience before he moved to Gateshead in 2022, where he made 30 appearances and played a key role in reaching the FA Trophy Final at Wembley. Most recently, he played for Spennymoor Town, scoring 17 goals in 77 appearances over two seasons before transferring to Halifax ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Excitement for the Future

Standing at 6ft 2in, Harris had the most productive season of his career at Halifax, establishing himself as one of the top goalscorers in the National League. Known for his powerful presence, aerial ability, and intelligent movement, he is eager to contribute to Hartlepool's ambitions.

After finalizing his contract, Harris expressed his enthusiasm for joining Hartlepool United, stating, “I’m delighted to be here. As soon as Pools’ interest became serious, this was the place I wanted to come.” He emphasized the club's ambition and his desire to be part of their journey, looking forward to starting pre-season and preparing for what he anticipates will be a significant season.
