Perth Glory sign defender Lachlan Jackson on two-year deal

Perth Glory has officially signed defender Lachlan Jackson to a two-year deal, enhancing their defensive lineup as they prepare for the new season.

Perth Glory have bolstered their defensive lineup ahead of the 2026-27 Isuzu UTE A-League season by signing experienced centre-back Lachlan Jackson on a two-year contract.

Jackson's A-League Journey

The 31-year-old defender joins Perth after spending a season-and-a-half with Melbourne Victory, where he made 22 appearances across all competitions. Jackson, who began his A-League career with Brisbane Roar in 2014, has also played extensively for Newcastle Jets and had a stint in South Korea with Suwon FC, accumulating over 90 matches in total.

Reasons for the Move

Jackson expressed that discussions with Football Director Stan Lazaridis and Head Coach Adam Griffiths played a significant role in his decision to join Perth Glory. “From the moment Stan and Griff spoke to me, it felt like the right decision,” he stated, emphasizing his support for Griffiths' vision for the team. He added, “I’m excited to get amongst the fans and be part of a squad with real quality and ambition.”

Adding Depth to the Defense

With Jackson's signing, Perth Glory continues to enhance their squad, marking him as their fifth off-season acquisition following the arrivals of Matthew Dench, Lucas Scicluna, Calem Nieuwenhof (on loan), and Henry Hore. Lazaridis highlighted Jackson’s experience and physicality, stating, “Lachie is an experienced and physical defender who knows the A-League extremely well.” He noted that Jackson's character and determination align well with the football style Griffiths aims to implement.

As Perth Glory prepares for the upcoming season, Jackson's addition is seen as a strategic move to strengthen their defense, contributing to the club's ambitions for the future.
