Perth Glory re-sign star import for two more years

Perth Glory has announced the re-signing of their star import for another two years, ensuring continuity and strength in their lineup. This move is expected to bolster the team's performance in the league.

Perth Glory has secured the services of star import Tom Lawrence for an additional two seasons in the A-League Men, as the club aims to end its seven-year finals drought. The former Manchester United midfielder is eager to play a pivotal role in the team's success moving forward.

Lawrence's Impact and Goals

In his debut season with Perth Glory, Lawrence made a significant impact, netting five goals and providing two assists in just 13 matches before a foot injury cut his season short. One of his standout performances came in a remarkable 3-1 away victory against Melbourne City, where he scored a hat-trick.

With the re-signing of Lawrence, Perth Glory continues to build its squad, having recently retained captain Adam Taggart along with Jaiden Kucharski, Stefan Colakovski, Sebastian Despotovski, and Giovanni De Abreu. Coach Adam Griffiths has also extended his contract for another two years.

Aiming for the Top

Perth Glory last reached the finals in the 2019/20 season, finishing sixth under former coach Tony Popovic. However, Lawrence is optimistic about the team's potential for the upcoming season, stating, "I believe in the project of the club and how forward this club is going, and I want to be a part of that." He expressed his desire to help the team challenge for a top-six finish, if not the top of the league.

Despite finishing 10th last season with eight wins, seven draws, and 11 losses, the team showed improvement compared to previous campaigns. Glory's football director, Stan Lazaridis, praised Lawrence's abilities, noting that he has already demonstrated his status as a match-winner and one of the league's top players.

As Perth Glory prepares for the new season, the club and its supporters are hopeful that Lawrence's contributions will be key in their quest for success.
