Chelsea has secured the services of Pep Chavarria, who joins the club from Rayo Vallecano on a five-year contract. The 28-year-old left-back is expected to compete with Jorrel Hato for the starting position following Cucurella's exit. Chavarria is the third defensive addition this summer, joining right-back Marco Palestra from Atalanta and Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace.
