Nottingham Forest battle two Premier League rivals for World Cup star with Elliot Anderson cash - The Mirror
Nottingham Forest is competing with two Premier League rivals to secure a World Cup star, using cash from the sale of Elliot Anderson to strengthen their bid.

Nottingham Forest is in competition with Sunderland and Brentford for the signature of Christ Inao Oulai, a promising 20-year-old midfielder from Ivory Coast. Oulai has garnered attention for his standout performances during the World Cup, where he played a key role in helping Les Elephants secure a second-place finish in Group E.
Valuation and Transfer Potential
Oulai is currently valued at approximately £34.5 million (€40 million) by Trabzonspor, who are looking to capitalize on the player's rising profile. He was acquired for just under £5 million from Bastia, a French second division club, last summer, and Trabzonspor holds a 20% sell-on clause. Given his impressive showing on the international stage, Oulai appears set for a lucrative transfer.
Interest from Multiple Clubs
Nottingham Forest has expressed particular interest in Oulai as they prepare for the departure of Elliot Anderson to Manchester City in a deal reportedly worth £116 million. While Oulai is not seen as a direct replacement for Anderson, he is among several midfield options being considered to enhance Vitor Pereira's squad, alongside Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall. Brentford is also keen on Oulai, as they seek to strengthen their midfield and attacking options following their pursuit of FC Koln's Said El Mala.
As Oulai continues to impress at the World Cup, he has removed most of his Trabzonspor-related posts from Instagram, suggesting a potential change in his career path. Other clubs, including PSG and RB Leipzig, are reportedly monitoring the situation, while Chelsea's interest remains unconfirmed. Oulai, who contributed to Trabzonspor's Turkish Cup victory last season, has stated, "My goal is to help the team as much as I can and introduce myself to the whole world."
