The Newcastle Jets have secured the services of promising young forward Oscar Gonzalez, signing him to a two-year contract from APIA Leichhardt. The 17-year-old has garnered attention as one of Australia's most exciting young talents, having made a significant impact in the National Premier Leagues (NPL) NSW.

Gonzalez's ascent in football began when he made his debut for APIA Leichhardt during the 2025 Australian Championship, where he scored at just 16 years old against Bayswater City. His performance has continued to impress, as he has netted 12 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions this season, showcasing his potential as a standout attacking player.
