The Newcastle Jets have announced that their Premiership-winning captain, Kosta Grozos, has departed the club following the end of his contract. Grozos played a significant role in the Jets' historic season, making 20 appearances as the team secured the Premiers Plate for the first time in the club's history.

Grozos' Journey with Newcastle Jets

The 25-year-old Grozos joined the Newcastle Jets prior to the 2021-22 Isuzu UTE A-League season after leaving the Western Sydney Wanderers. Over his tenure with the Jets, he accumulated a total of 125 appearances. Ahead of the 2024-25 season, Grozos was appointed captain by then head coach Rob Stanton, making him the youngest permanent skipper in the club's history.

Achievements and Farewell

During his time as captain, Grozos led Newcastle to victory in both the Australia Cup and the Premiers Plate, marking the first time the club achieved these honors.
