Newcastle United have officially confirmed the acquisition of goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek from SC Braga for a fee of €30.578 million. The announcement was made on 3 August 2026, with Hornicek signing a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

Upon his arrival, the Czech international expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Magpies. A Key Player at Braga

Before joining Newcastle, Hornicek developed his skills at SC Braga, having joined the club from FK Pardubice during the 2019/20 season. He progressed through the Braga academy and made his first-team debut in the 2021/22 season. Over his time at Braga, he became an integral part of the team, making a total of 88 appearances.
