The New England Revolution announced the retention of U.S. international goalkeeper Matt Turner, ensuring a strong presence in goal as they prepare for the new season.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (July 13, 2026) – The New England Revolution have successfully extended the loan of U.S. international goalkeeper Matt Turner from French club Olympique Lyonnais until December 31, 2026. The agreement includes an option to prolong the loan through December 31, 2027, at which point the Revolution will have the opportunity to purchase the player. Turner is classified as a TAM-eligible player for the team.

Turner's Impressive Track Record

Matt Turner returns to the Revolution following his participation in his second consecutive FIFA World Cup with the United States, where he made his fifth career start on the global stage. The Park Ridge, N.J. native has achieved 27 clean sheets and 29 wins in 55 appearances for the U.S. Men's National Team. In Major League Soccer, Turner has recorded 54 wins in 126 starts over eight seasons with New England, placing him second in the club's history for goalkeeper starts, goals against average, wins, saves, and save percentage. He was named the 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and earned All-Star and Best XI honors during the Revolution's Supporters' Shield campaign, boasting a .581 win percentage, the highest among New England goalkeepers.
