Born on May 5, 2000, in Cimitile, a town near Naples, Gaetano began his football journey with ASD Future Boys. His talent was quickly recognized by Napoli, who signed him at the age of 11. He advanced through the youth ranks, eventually joining the Primavera team, where he recorded an impressive 43 goals and 25 assists in 92 matches, including 15 appearances in the UEFA Youth League.

Gaetano made his first-team debut for Napoli at just 18 years old during a Coppa Italia match against Sassuolo on January 13, 2019.
