Melbourne Victory has officially announced that defender Sebastian Esposito will not be returning for the 2026/27 Isuzu UTE A-League season. The 21-year-old player joined the club on loan from Italian Serie A team Lecce prior to the 25/26 season and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team's defense.

Esposito's Impact at Melbourne Victory

During his time with Victory, Esposito made a significant contribution, starting in 22 of the 24 matches last season and scoring two goals. However, he will now return to Italy in search of first-team opportunities for the upcoming season.

Additionally, German central defender Phillip Ziereis has been secured on a two-year contract, adding to the team's defensive options with his extensive experience in German and Austrian football.
