Melbourne City has made a significant addition to their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Ninja A-League season by signing Matildas star Cortnee Vine on a one-year contract. The 28-year-old forward returns to Australia after spending two seasons with North Carolina Courage in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), where she played 23 matches and scored two goals from 2024 to 2026.

Vine's Impressive International Experience

Vine arrives in Melbourne with a wealth of experience, having earned 30 caps for the Matildas and netted three goals. She represented Australia at both the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Her notable performance during the World Cup included converting a crucial penalty against France in a dramatic shootout, helping Australia reach the semi-finals for the first time in history.

Aiming for Success with Melbourne City

With a strong track record in the Ninja A-League, Vine has made over 100 appearances, winning three Premierships and two Championships before her move to the NWSL.
