Mason Greenwood has landed in Istanbul, signaling an imminent signing with Fenerbahce. This move represents a new chapter in his professional journey.

Mason Greenwood has arrived in Istanbul as Fenerbahce prepares to officially announce his signing. The English forward landed at Istanbul Airport on July 16, 2026, accompanied by his family and was welcomed by a large gathering of enthusiastic supporters dressed in the club's yellow and navy colors.
Excitement Surrounds the Transfer
The 24-year-old winger, who was signed from Olympique de Marseille for a transfer fee of 39 million euros, expressed his surprise at the warm reception he received. "It's amazing to feel this kind of support, Fenerbahce fans are incredible," Greenwood stated to reporters at the International Arrivals Terminal. He also mentioned that his family is excited about the move, with his girlfriend eager to explore Turkish culture, and the couple looking forward to life in Istanbul with their two daughters.
Upcoming Signing Ceremony
Fenerbahce has scheduled a formal signing ceremony for Greenwood, along with new signings Nathan Ake and Vedat Muriqi, to take place at 3 p.m. on Friday at Chobani Stadium, located within the Fenerbahce Sukru Saracoglu Sports Complex. The event will be open to media and attended by board member Cihan Kamer and football director Oguz Cetin.
Club Executive Highlights Leadership Role
Cihan Kamer, who played a key role in securing the transfer, credited the club's newly elected president, Aziz Yildirim, for the successful deal. He described the summer recruitment strategy as a systematic approach to fill gaps identified by the technical staff, beginning with Muriqi, followed by Ake, and culminating in Greenwood's acquisition. "It was a long journey. I am very happy to be living the result. May it end in a championship," Kamer remarked.
Greenwood's career began at Manchester United, where he made his debut as a 17-year-old in a UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain in March 2019. He went on to score his first senior goal later that year in the UEFA Europa League, becoming the youngest player in Manchester United history to score in European competition. After making 129 appearances and scoring 35 goals for United, he spent the 2023 season on loan at Getafe in Spain, where he netted 10 goals.
