Man City ease past Fulham to close in on Arsenal

Manchester City showcased their dominance with a solid win against Fulham, bringing them closer to Arsenal in the title race. The victory highlights City's determination to reclaim the top spot.

Manchester City secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Fulham, narrowing the gap to Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table. The win came at the Etihad Stadium, where City showcased their attacking prowess with three first-half goals.

Dominant First Half

City's performance was marked by a flurry of goals within the opening 39 minutes. Antoine Semenyo opened the scoring in the 24th minute, converting a chance after Matheus Nunes' cross deflected into his path. Just six minutes later, Semenyo turned from scorer to provider, assisting Nico O'Reilly, who finished past Fulham's goalkeeper Bernd Leno. Erling Haaland capped off the first half with a drilled finish, ending his eight-game wait for a goal in open play in the Premier League.

Second Half Control

Although Pep Guardiola opted to substitute Haaland at halftime, City maintained control of the match. Despite not adding to their tally in the second half, Fulham struggled to pose a significant threat, ensuring a comfortable win for the home side.

With this victory, Manchester City moved to within three points of Arsenal, who could only manage a draw against Brentford. Fulham, on the other hand, remained in 12th place following their third consecutive defeat.
