Man City agree €150m British transfer record deal to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest | FootballTransfers

Manchester City has agreed to a groundbreaking €150m transfer deal for Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, marking a historic moment in British football.

Manchester City is poised to set a new British transfer record by securing the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The deal, reported to be worth £130 million (€150.8 million), marks a significant investment for City as they aim to bolster their midfield options.

Anderson Chooses City Over United

The 23-year-old midfielder has been a top target for Manchester City, particularly after the departure of Pep Guardiola. Despite interest from rivals Manchester United, Anderson has expressed a strong preference to join City. His transfer will surpass the previous record held by Liverpool, who paid £125 million (€145 million) for Alexander Isak from Newcastle last summer.

Negotiations and Medical Ahead

Negotiations between the two clubs had been ongoing for several weeks, with Nottingham Forest initially rejecting at least one formal offer from City. The discussions were complicated by Forest's demand for a fee that would break the British transfer record, as well as negotiations over upfront payments and bonus terms. Anderson has now received permission to undergo a medical examination in New York, where he is currently participating in the 2026 World Cup with the England national team.

Since joining Nottingham Forest from Newcastle in 2024 for €41.2 million, Anderson has emerged as one of the standout midfielders in the Premier League. He earned his first England cap last September and has since made 11 appearances for his country, including two matches in the World Cup. With the signing of Anderson, Manchester City will break the British transfer record for the second time, following their acquisition of Jack Grealish for £100 million (€117.5 million) in 2021.
