Macarthur Bulls sign winger Connor Pain: A-League Transfer News
The Macarthur Bulls have secured the signing of winger Connor Pain, bolstering their roster for the A-League season. This move aims to strengthen their attacking options.

The Macarthur Bulls have strengthened their roster ahead of the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season by signing experienced winger Connor Pain. With over 200 A-League appearances, Pain brings a wealth of top-flight experience from his time at clubs including Melbourne Victory, Central Coast Mariners, and Western United.
Experience and Recent History
Pain was part of Western United’s championship-winning team during the 2021-22 season and has spent the last three years playing in Saudi Arabia. Last season, he featured in 33 matches for Al-Bukiryah, accumulating nearly 3000 minutes on the pitch.
Excitement for the New Chapter
“It feels great to be linking up with the Bulls,” Pain expressed after signing his contract. He mentioned that he is familiar with some players in the squad, which should help him settle in quickly. “I wanted to first and foremost come back to Australia after being in Saudi Arabia for the last three seasons,” he added.
Pain also shared his enthusiasm about joining the Bulls, stating, “After some discussions with Macarthur and the boys there, I got the impression that it is a really great dressing room, and I’m just excited to come and join and contribute in any way that I can.”
Commitment to the Team
When asked what Bulls fans can expect from him, Pain said, “They can expect someone who works really hard and who is definitely team-first mentality.” He emphasized his versatility and A-League experience, hoping to assist the younger players in their development. “Whatever position I’m in I can promise that I’ll give my all for my teammates and the club,” he concluded.
Pain, who made his debut for the Socceroos in 2013, becomes Head Coach Mile Sterjovski’s seventh signing this off-season. The Bulls have also welcomed Nathan Paull from Central Coast Mariners and Jonathan Aspropotamitis, who returns to the A-Leagues after a stint in the K League. Additionally, Ben Gibson and Jing Reec will enhance the forward line, while Premiership-winning captain Kosta Grozos joins from Newcastle Jets to fill the gaps left by departing Socceroos Luke Brattan and Anthony Caceres.
