Lucas Herrington transfer news: Socceroos star eyes EPL move
Lucas Herrington is reportedly looking to make a move to the English Premier League. The Socceroos star aims to elevate his career by competing at a higher level.

Lucas Herrington, the young Socceroos centre-back, is reportedly on the verge of a significant move to the Premier League. According to transfer insider Rudy Galetti, negotiations for Herrington's transfer are in the "final stages," making a switch to England appear highly likely.
Potential Move to the Premier League
Galetti shared the news on X, highlighting that the 18-year-old, who gained prominence during the World Cup, is eager to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League. The Australian defender has been attracting interest from several top European clubs, further emphasizing the potential impact of his move.
Another Aussie Talent on the Move
In addition to Herrington's situation, Galetti also mentioned that Sydney FC could be set to profit from a $2 million transfer involving 17-year-old winger Akol Akon to Major League Soccer (MLS). However, Akon is not eligible to move abroad until he turns 18 in May, meaning he will remain with Sydney FC for the remainder of the A-League season.
Akon did not participate in Sydney's recent pre-season match against Tottenham, which ended in a penalty shootout loss after a 1-1 draw, due to a minor injury. The young winger has made a name for himself over the past year since joining Sydney FC from Western Sydney Wanderers, contributing three assists to the team.
