John Stones has officially joined Inter Milan on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract with the Italian champions. The 32-year-old defender departed Manchester City after a decade with the club, having seen his contract expire at the end of June.

Successful Tenure at Manchester City

During his time at Manchester City, Stones achieved significant success, contributing to the club's haul of six Premier League titles, one Champions League trophy, two FA Cups, five League Cups, three Community Shields, a Club World Cup, and a UEFA Super Cup. Reflecting on his career at City, Stones expressed that he had "lived all my dreams out."

Interest from European Clubs

Since becoming a free agent, Stones garnered attention from several clubs across Europe, including Chelsea and Juventus. Ultimately, he chose to join Inter Milan, who recently secured their 21st Serie A title. Inter will kick off their title defense against newly promoted Monza on August 22.

Stones, who previously played for Barnsley and Everton, made 295 appearances for Manchester City, scoring 19 goals after his transfer from Everton for £47.5 million in 2016. He has also earned 93 caps for the England national team, playing a key role in their recent World Cup campaign, where they finished third.
