Manchester City has completed the signing of 17-year-old winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City for £10 million, marking a significant addition to their squad.

Manchester City has finalized the acquisition of 17-year-old winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester City. The young talent has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2031, with the transfer fee reported to be £10 million plus potential add-ons.

Young Talent Joins City

Monga, who recently celebrated his 17th birthday, is recognized as the third-youngest player to have ever participated in the Premier League. He made his debut for Leicester against Newcastle United in April 2025 at the age of 15 years and 271 days, marking him as the second-youngest player to appear for the Foxes. During the 2025/26 season, he played 30 matches across all competitions for Leicester, contributing one goal and two assists, and has a total of 37 senior appearances, including seven in the Premier League.

Excitement for the Future

Upon joining Manchester City, Monga expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me." He emphasized the significance of being part of a club that has excelled in English football over the past decade and highlighted the opportunities available for young players, referencing the success of academy graduates like Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly.

Monga's signing marks him as the third English player to join new head coach Enzo Maresca's squad this summer, following goalkeeper Pierce Charles and record signing Elliot Anderson, who was acquired for £116 million. The addition of Monga further strengthens City's commitment to nurturing young talent.
