Bayern Munich's Jamal Musiala caused significant concern after collapsing on the pitch shortly after scoring during his team's 3-1 pre-season victory over RB Leipzig in the Telekom Cup at the Allianz Arena.

Incident on the Pitch

Musiala, who was making his first appearance of the pre-season, entered the match as a substitute in the 69th minute, joining teammates Ismael Saibari and Alphonso Davies. Just 12 minutes later, he scored Bayern's third goal, converting a cut-back from Saibari in the 81st minute. However, the joy of the goal quickly turned to worry when Musiala appeared disoriented shortly after. He began to lose his balance, prompting Saibari to rush to his aid and help him down safely.

As Musiala remained on the ground, Joshua Kimmich and other Bayern players called for medical assistance. Medical staff and an emergency doctor quickly arrived on the scene, and a stretcher was brought out, leading to a tense atmosphere in the stadium.

Reassurance from Bayern

Fortunately, the situation took a positive turn when the emergency doctor signaled a thumbs-up, indicating Musiala was able to stand and walk off the pitch, albeit looking dazed. Bayern sporting director Max Eberl later provided an encouraging update, stating, "The most important thing is that he's OK," while refraining from sharing additional medical information. At that time, the club had not released an official diagnosis regarding the incident.

The match took place under challenging conditions, with temperatures in Munich reaching around 33 degrees Celsius. Reports suggested that Musiala may have experienced dizziness and circulatory issues, potentially linked to the extreme heat, although this has not been officially confirmed by the club.

This incident raised alarms due to Musiala's recent injury history, which includes a fractured fibula and a broken and dislocated ankle sustained during Bayern's Club World Cup quarter-final against Paris Saint-Germain in July 2025. This injury sidelined him for over six months, and he had recently undergone a planned follow-up operation related to it.
