NorthEast United FC has officially announced the signing of Spanish forward Ethyan González on a one-year contract, valid until the end of the 2026-27 season, with an option for an additional year. The 24-year-old joins the Highlanders from Qatari club Muaither SC, marking the team's first foreign signing as they gear up for the upcoming season.

González's Journey to NorthEast United FC

Born on June 6, 2002, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Ethyan González stands at 1.85 meters and is a right-footed striker. He began his football journey at UD Cruz Santa before joining the CD Tenerife academy in 2014 at the age of 12. After seven years in the youth system, he made his senior debut for Tenerife B on February 17, 2021, in the Tercera División, where he quickly made an impact by scoring 14 goals in just 16 appearances.

Following his impressive performances, González made his senior debut for CD Tenerife in August 2021 during a 2-1 victory over CF Fuenlabrada. He later spent the 2022-23 season on loan at Atlético Madrid B, further honing his skills in a competitive environment. After returning to Tenerife and signing a contract extension until 2028, he took on new challenges in Portugal with Torreense and in Qatar with Muaither SC.
