A Journey Back Home

In an interview with aleagues.com.au, Aldred reflected on his feelings about returning to Brisbane, stating, “I can’t really believe it. I keep having to like (pinch myself).” He noted that this experience is unprecedented in his career, emphasizing his gratitude for the opportunity to come back after gaining valuable experiences elsewhere. Aldred shared his affection for Australia, mentioning that Brisbane has become a significant part of his life, particularly as his son was born in Queensland. He added, “I always wanted to get my Australian citizenship,” further illustrating his deep connection to the region.

Legacy and Leadership

Since arriving in Australia in June 2019, Aldred has made a substantial impact in the A-Leagues, quickly becoming one of the league's standout central defenders. He was appointed captain at the start of his first season, making history as the first foreigner to lead the club. His leadership and performance endeared him to the fans, making his departure at the end of the 2023/24 season particularly difficult for the club's supporters. In his farewell address, Aldred expressed, “It has been a privilege and honour to lead this great club. It has been the most incredible journey of my life.”

Now, Aldred is back with Brisbane Roar, having recently arrived in Indonesia for pre-season matches against local teams Dewa United and Persija Jakarta. As he readjusts to life at the club, he is eager to contribute once again to the team he holds dear.
