Hull City has strengthened their squad ahead of their Premier League return by signing midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso. The 20-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the club, with the transfer fee reported to be around £10 million.

Hjerto-Dahl arrives at the MKM Stadium after making 89 league appearances for Tromso in the Eliteserien over the past three years. During his time with the Norwegian side, he contributed significantly with 19 goal involvements, including 12 goals and seven assists. He noted that discussions about the transfer began just over a week ago and progressed quickly. "I spoke to the chairman, and he told me good things about the club. I also spoke to Sergej and I really like his vision for me and for the team," he added. Hjerto-Dahl described himself as a tall midfielder who enjoys advancing play and is strong in duels.

Hjerto-Dahl is the sixth player to join Hull this summer, following Jack Butland, Oscar Zambrano, Matt Targett, Hidemasa Morita, and Konstantinos Tzolakis. Hull chairman Acun Ilicali has been vocal about the club's transfer ambitions, frequently updating fans on social media regarding the status of potential signings. Recently, he hinted at four more deals nearing completion, with names like Senegal's Nobel Mendy and Aston Villa's Leon Bailey among those mentioned.
