Hamburger SV has announced the signing of Terem Moffi, a 27-year-old centre-forward from OGC Nice. Moffi becomes the seventh addition to the Rothosen's squad this summer, further bolstering their attacking options ahead of the new Bundesliga season.

Board Member for Sport Kathleen Krüger expressed enthusiasm about Moffi's fit within the team's strategy, stating, “With his signing, we are giving ourselves even more options and versatility in the centre-forward position and further increasing the quality of our squad.” Moffi, who will don the number 9 jersey at HSV, brings valuable experience from his previous stints in various leagues.

A Diverse Football Journey

Born on May 25, 1999, in Calabar, Nigeria, Moffi has had a diverse career across six countries, with Germany now marking the seventh. He began his football journey in England at Buckswood Football Academy before moving to Lithuania, where he played for FK Kauno Žalgiris and FK Riteriai. His career continued in Belgium with KV Kortrijk, followed by a move to FC Lorient in France. Most recently, he was signed by OGC Nice and spent the latter part of last season on loan at FC Porto. Throughout his career, Moffi has made 228 competitive appearances, scoring 88 goals and providing 13 assists.

As a full international for Nigeria since 2021, Moffi has made 23 appearances, netting six goals and assisting twice. He recently played alongside his new teammate Jordan Torunarigha in October 2023. Moffi highlighted the convincing nature of the coach and the appeal of the club's direction and passionate fanbase as key factors in his decision to join HSV.
