Gila to Milan: €30m Deal Done | Gazzetta.it
Milan has finalized a €30 million deal to sign Gila, bolstering their roster ahead of the new season. This transfer reflects the club's commitment to strengthening their team.
Milan has successfully secured the signing of Spanish defender Mario Gila from Lazio for €30 million, marking a significant addition to their squad. This transfer follows the earlier acquisition of striker Gonçalo Ramos for €70 million, bringing the Rossoneri's total spending in this transfer window to approximately €100 million.
Successful Negotiations
The deal for Gila was finalized after Milan raised their offer, resolving previous valuation discrepancies with Lazio. The breakthrough occurred during discussions held at Casa Milan, where Alejandro Camaño, Gila's agent, met with player trading director Hendrik Almstadt. Camaño had also consulted with Lazio earlier in the week to understand their stance, which facilitated the negotiations. The agreement included a fixed transfer fee, with 50% of it allocated to Real Madrid, and a separate deal for Primavera left-back Lorenzo Calvani, who will join Milan for €2.5 million.
A New Era for Milan
Pending a successful medical examination, Gila is expected to join the team at their training camp soon. In contrast, Gonçalo Ramos will take some time off after his recent World Cup elimination with Portugal before starting his journey with Milan at the end of July. The combined investment in these two players underscores the ambition of RedBird chief Gerry Cardinale, who aims to usher in a new era for the club, beginning with the appointment of manager Ruben Amorim and a restructuring of the club's hierarchy.
As Milan continues to strengthen their squad, further signings are anticipated, indicating that the club's summer transfer activity is far from over.
