Grant expressed a mix of emotions following the loss, highlighting that while the defeat was painful, there are many positives to take away. "When PK came in, we would have snapped a hand off him to be a final," he stated, referring to coach Patrick Kisnorbo. The grand final marked Kisnorbo's seventh match in charge and was his first loss since taking over, having joined the club in March as a replacement for Ufuk Talay. Grant noted that the team performed well under Kisnorbo's leadership, which gives them hope moving forward.

Kisnorbo's decision to include several young players in the final, such as 17-year-old Akol Akon, 19-year-old Tiago Quintal, 20-year-old Wataru Kamijo, and 21-year-old Paul Okon Jr, indicates a commitment to developing future talent. Akon, who celebrated his birthday just days before the match, made history as the youngest player to participate in an ALM grand final.

Grant reflected on the nature of the match, stating, "Even before the game, we knew that it didn't have to be pretty - you just want to get a result, don't you?"
