Fabinho heads to Türkiye to sign a €7M contract with Trabzonspor - Türkiye Today
Fabinho has made a move to Türkiye, signing a contract worth €7 million with Trabzonspor. This transfer highlights the growing appeal of Turkish football.

Brazilian midfielder Fabinho is set to finalize his transfer to Trabzonspor in Türkiye after reaching a principal agreement, the club announced. The deal is reported to be worth €7 million ($8.2 million) annually, along with a signing bonus. Fabinho is expected to arrive in Trabzon on a private flight at 11:30 a.m. local time (GMT+3) on August 24, 2026.
Experienced Addition to Trabzonspor
The 32-year-old defensive midfielder recently left Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad, making him available for this move without a transfer fee. Fabinho boasts an impressive track record, having spent five successful seasons at Liverpool, where he made 219 appearances and won the Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in the 2019-20 season. He also played 111 matches for Al Ittihad after joining the club in 2023, contributing to their victories in the Saudi Pro League and King's Cup during the 2024-25 season.
Reunion with Mohamed Salah
Fabinho's transfer to Trabzonspor follows the recent signing of Mohamed Salah, who joined the Turkish club on a two-year contract after leaving Liverpool. This move reunites the two players, who were teammates at Liverpool for five seasons. Salah's contract reportedly includes an annual salary of €10 million and a €7 million signing payment, totaling €17 million in guaranteed compensation each season.
Trabzonspor, one of Türkiye's most prominent clubs with seven Super Lig titles, is currently preparing for the Europa League qualifying rounds. After finishing third in the league last season and winning the Turkish Cup, the club faces a challenging playoff against Hungary's Ferencvaros, needing to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.
