He dominated the Johnny Warren Medal voting, finishing with 36 votes, well ahead of Melbourne City captain Aziz Behich and Auckland FC forward Lachie Brook, who placed second and third, respectively. Brook's teammates, Louis Verstraete and Jesse Randall, completed the top five.
Newcastle Jets' Eli Adams was recognized as the Young Footballer of the Year after a stellar season that saw the team clinch both the Premiership and the Australia Cup. Additionally, Daniel Wilmering, a left-back for the Jets, won the Shark Fan Player of the Year Award, further highlighting the Jets' successful campaign.
