First Half Dominance by Fulham
Fulham started the match strongly, dominating the first half and taking the lead in the 18th minute. An attempted clearance by Michael Keane fell to Raul Jimenez, whose shot was saved by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford but deflected off Vitalii Mykolenko into the net. The home side could have increased their lead, with Jimenez missing a significant opportunity and Samuel Chukwueze hitting the crossbar. Everton also had their chances, with Jake O’Brien striking the woodwork early in the match.
Second Half Turnaround
After a lackluster first half, Everton regrouped and came out strong in the second half. Their persistence paid off in the 75th minute when Mykolenko assisted Dewsbury-Hall, who equalized with a low shot past Bernd Leno. Just eight minutes later, Everton took the lead when Leno inadvertently scored an own goal while attempting to punch away a corner taken by Dewsbury-Hall. This turn of events propelled Everton to seventh place in the league, while Fulham slipped to tenth.
