Eintracht Frankfurt sign Nigeria international midfielder Raphael Onyedika | Bundesliga

Eintracht Frankfurt has secured the signing of Nigerian international midfielder Raphael Onyedika. The move aims to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign.

Eintracht Frankfurt has officially announced the signing of Nigerian international midfielder Raphael Onyedika from Club Brugge. The 25-year-old has committed to a contract that will keep him at the club until June 2031.

Onyedika's Impressive Track Record

Markus Krösche, Frankfurt's board member for sport, praised Onyedika's abilities, stating, "Raphael Onyedika has not only impressed us with his physicality and strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his extraordinary consistency." Krösche emphasized that Onyedika's potential makes him a vital addition to the team's structure.

Onyedika made his move to Brugge in 2022 from Danish club Midtjylland, quickly securing his place as the first-choice defensive midfielder. During his tenure, he contributed to the team’s success, winning the Belgian Jupiter Pro League twice and making 24 appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

International Experience and Future Prospects

His performances at Brugge earned him his first cap for Nigeria in late 2022, and he has since represented the national team 26 times, scoring three goals. Now, Onyedika aims to make his mark in Frankfurt's competitive midfield as the team seeks to return to the Champions League.

Onyedika's debut for Frankfurt could come in the DFB Cup, where they will face fifth-tier side St. Tönis on August 21. The team's Bundesliga campaign will kick off against Union Berlin on August 29.
