The deal for goalkeeper Dubravka has officially been completed, enhancing the team's roster. This transfer is expected to bring valuable experience and skill to the squad.

Tottenham Hotspur has officially confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, who will join the club on July 1, following the end of his contract with Burnley. The Slovakia international brings a wealth of experience to Spurs, having established himself as a prominent figure in goal throughout his career.

Dubravka's Excitement for New Chapter

In his first statement as a Tottenham player, Dubravka expressed his enthusiasm for this new opportunity, stating, "It's an exciting time for me, a new journey and new experience for me and my family. I'm looking forward to it." He acknowledged the swift nature of the transfer and shared his admiration for the team's style and the passionate fanbase. "Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and I can't wait to meet everyone and get started," he added.

Club's Confidence in Dubravka

Sporting Director Johan Lange welcomed Dubravka, highlighting his proven quality and professionalism. "He is a goalkeeper of proven quality at the highest level, and his character and professionalism will strengthen the squad," Lange remarked. Head Coach Roberto De Zerbi also praised Dubravka, noting his experience and strong mentality, which he believes will enhance the team's balance and competitiveness.

A Look at Dubravka's Career

Dubravka, a third-generation goalkeeper, began his career at MSK Zilina, where he helped secure two Slovak Superliga titles and achieve a historic qualification for the UEFA Champions League group stage in the 2010/11 season. His journey continued in Denmark with Esbjerg fB before moving to Slovan Liberec and then Sparta Prague. In January 2018, he made his Premier League debut on loan at Newcastle United, where his performances led to a permanent transfer. He became a key player for Newcastle, making 88 consecutive Premier League appearances and earning accolades such as the North East Football Writers' Association Player of the Year in 2018.

After a loan spell with Manchester United during the 2022/23 season, where he won a Carabao Cup winners’ medal, Dubravka returned to Newcastle before making the move to Tottenham. His arrival is expected to bolster the squad as Spurs look to build on their ambitions in the Premier League.
