City seal Semenyo signature

The City Seal Semenyo signature marks a pivotal moment in local governance, symbolizing a commitment to community values and heritage. This initiative aims to strengthen civic pride and enhance public engagement.

Manchester City has officially announced the acquisition of Antoine Semenyo from AFC Bournemouth. The 26-year-old forward has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract, which will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until 2031.

Rise to Prominence

Semenyo has experienced a rapid ascent in his career, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's most formidable forwards. Originally from London and of Ghanaian heritage, he began his professional journey at Bristol City. During his development, he had loan spells at Bath City, Newport County, and Sunderland, which helped him refine his skills.

His impressive performances at Ashton Gate caught the attention of Bournemouth, who brought him to the Premier League midway through the 2022/23 season. Since then, Semenyo has continued to thrive, primarily playing as an attacking winger on the left side of the midfield trio.

New Challenge Ahead

With 110 appearances for Bournemouth under his belt, the Ghanaian international is now set to take on a new challenge with Manchester City. He is expected to enhance Pep Guardiola's squad with his flair and goal-scoring ability. Semenyo is eligible to participate immediately, including in the upcoming Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Newcastle.

Expressing his excitement about the move, Semenyo stated, “I am so proud to have joined Manchester City.” He acknowledged the club's dominance in the Premier League over the past decade under Guardiola and highlighted the high standards set by the team, which boasts world-class players and facilities. He added, “I have so much scope for improvement, so to be at this club, at this stage of my career, is perfect for me. It’s a real privilege to be here.”
