Chelsea Football Club has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for a record fee of £117 million, according to sources from Football Insider. The 23-year-old forward is set to undergo a medical examination on Monday before embarking on his summer holidays, marking a significant step in finalizing his transfer.

Record-Breaking Transfer

Rogers has agreed to a six-year contract with Chelsea, with the total deal expected to exceed £170 million when factoring in both the transfer fee and wages. This transfer will make him the most expensive English player in history, surpassing the previous record held by Elliot Anderson, who moved to Manchester City for £116 million earlier this summer.

Although Arsenal was initially leading the pursuit for the England international, who netted 14 goals across all competitions this past season, Rogers expressed a strong desire to join Chelsea.
