Central Coast Marines confirm departure of Alfie McCalmont
Alfie McCalmont has officially left the Central Coast Mariners, as confirmed by the club. His departure signals a new chapter for both the player and the team.

The Central Coast Mariners have announced that midfielder Alfie McCalmont has departed the club following the end of his contract. The Northern Ireland international made a total of 40 appearances and scored five goals during his two seasons in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
McCalmont's Journey with the Mariners
McCalmont joined the Mariners ahead of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season, having previously worked with former Head Coach Mark Jackson at the Leeds United academy. Throughout the 2024-25 season, he played a significant role in the Mariners' challenging AFC Champions League Elite campaign and became a key player in the midfield under ex-coach Warren Moon, starting 18 matches. However, he missed the final five games of the last season due to injury and is now on the lookout for a new club.
Off-Season Departures and Club Restructuring
With McCalmont's exit, he becomes the 13th player to leave the Mariners during the off-season, joining the likes of Brad Tapp, Nathan Paull, and Miguel Di Pizio among others. The club is undergoing a transformation under new ownership after Total Soccer Growth Holdings completed its takeover, and new Head Coach John Hutchinson is actively reshaping the squad. So far, the Mariners have signed Oliver O’Carroll from Melbourne City, Noah McCann from Queens Park Rangers, and Max Naylor from Perth Glory.
As the Mariners continue to adjust their roster, fans will be keen to see how the new signings will impact the upcoming season.
